			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Jaipur : The Sanskar School, Jaipur, in partnership with Rajasthan Royals, today announced the ‘4th Kanni Thahryamal Tournament 2011’, an annual inter-school cricket tournament in memory of the school’s Founder Director Late Mr Kanni Thahryamal. The tournament will be played from 9th November to 3rd December 2011 at Jaipur’s Sanskar School ground. As a part of this initiative, Rajasthan Royals stalwart Rahul Dravid will be present for the finals on 3rd December.</p>
<p>An already prestigious and popular tournament in Jaipur with widespread school participation, the tournament will be boosted by a partnership with Rajasthan Royals, who have signed up with the Kanni Thahryamal Tournament to develop, nurture and motivate young talent at the grassroots level. Starting from the quarterfinals, various Rajasthan Royals players and coaches will watch the tournament and scout for talent. They will also share their expert knowledge with the budding players during specially designed coaching sessions. Rahul Dravid will grace the final presentation ceremony during which he will interact with the students and share with them the challenges he faced during his school cricketing days.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The State Secretariat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Himachal Pradesh State Committee has issued the following statement:</p>
<p>By announcing yet another price hike of petrol by Rs. 1.80 per litre, the UPA government has once again displayed its shocking callousness at the plight of the people. On the same day the price hike was announced the food inflation rate touched 12.21 per cent.</p>
<p>The government’s deregulation of petrol pricing is responsible for the fuelling of the price hike of essential commodities and inflation. The hoax of the pricing according to the market has been exposed as the international oil prices have fallen considerably in the recent period.</p>
<p>The Party State Committee calls upon all its Party units to protest against this intolerable burden being imposed on the people. United protests should be launched including mass pickettting.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Shimla:Thakur Gulab Singh, Public Works Minister said here today that repair and maintenance of all National Highways and State roads have been accorded priority by the State Government to facilitate the commuters, since the prolonged rainy season this year had caused heavy damages to the roads in the State. Thakur Gulab Singh said that repair and maintenance of Chandigarh-Manali National Highway had been also taken on war footing. He said that this road had been badly damaged during the monsoon. He said that report regarding damage amounting to Rs 21 crore has already been sent to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. He said that estimate for restoration of work was being prepared and would be submitted to the Central Ministry for approval.</p>
<p>. He said that patch work for repairing this National Highway has been completed to the extent of 90 per cent and the remaining work would be completed within fortnight</p>
<p>Public Works Minister said that portion of Chandigarh-Manali National Highway between Mandi and Pandoh falls under the sliding zone and the Department would under-take the restoration work of the sliding portion between 213/100 to 213/200 as soon as the estimate is sanctioned be the Central Ministry. He said that the State Government is maintaining the single-lane road of this portion from its own resources for smooth flow of vehicles.</p>
<p>Thakur Gulab Singh said that the up-gradation work of Mehatpur-Una-Amb road has been awarded to M/s. Longjian Roads and Bridge Company Ltd., China. He said that out of the 44.823 kms total stretch, about 28.500 kms. road length in full width and another about seven km. in single lane i.e. half width of road have been blacktopped. He said that the work of metalling/tarring of remaining 9.3 kms. was also in progress. He said that the metal base layers in different stretches were also being laid. He said that for reducing the ill-effects of dust on the balance non metalled road stretch, water was being sprinkled regularly. He said that the work of metalling and tarring of this road got affected for about four months due to prolonged rainy season. However, now every effort is being made to black top the remaining stretch on priority for convenience of general public, he added.</p>
<p>Public Works Minister said that though some inconvenience would be there due to the ongoing construction work on this busy road, but the Himachal Pradesh Road Infrastructure Development Corporation and consultants were taking all possible steps to minimize the inconvenience. He directed the authorities to complete metalling work of this road at the earliest and ensure quality work.</p>
<p>Thakur Gulab Singh said that the Company had started construction of 12 bridges on this road, out of which work on eight bridges have been started and work on remaining four bridges would also be started soon. He said that construction of four bridges was almost complete and these were likely to be opened for use by traffic soon.</p>

<p>Prince William, second-in-line to the British throne, and Catherine (Kate) Middleton, both 28, who got engaged in Kenya in October, will be married by Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowland Douglas Williams on April 29 at Westminster Abbey in London. They met in September 2001 at the University of St Andrews in Scotland studying art history, and then reportedly split in April 2007 for a short period. Middleton is said to be the first commoner in 350 years to marry an heir-presumptive to throne. </p>

<p>In a high scoring match at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium Friday night, Ismaeel Abdulatif scored four times as Bahrain &#8211; who had Faouzi Aaish sent-off midway through the second-half &#8211; outclassed the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup winners in the Group C. Gouramangi Singh and Sunil Chhetri managed to net the ball and Houghton was delighted that his players battled until the bitter end.</p>
<p>It was India&#8217;s second successive loss in the tournament following the 0-4 thrashing against Australia in their opening encounter.</p>
<p>&#8220;It was a tough game. It&#8217;s a tough group and it&#8217;s a big challenge for us to play against opponents like ours. It was a good win for Bahrain. However, from our perspective we are the team who don&#8217;t give up as in the second-half we had fight and when we scored a goal, we nearly added another and it could have been an interesting end for the game,&#8221; said Houghton.</p>
<p>The 63-year-old Englishman underlined India&#8217;s experience in the Asian Cup as an extremely positive experience.</p>
